In first year we were set an editorial project in which we were given a year and a topic. We then had to find an article which fitted this specification and then create a magazine cover and a few double page spreads to display the article. The topic I received was 1920s invention.

​After researching I chose to focus on the polygraph machine (or lie detector) which was invented by John Larson in 1921. I also decided to create 

my own magazine which focuses its content on ideas, inventions and

innovation. The article I used focused on how people 'detect' lies and howthe machine works and I created the images for the article by doing long exposure photographs to create a feeling of nervousness and anxiety.
